Seventymm - Pathetic movie rental service!

How do you like the idea of subscribing for a movie rental service to watch movies, which is supposed to be a recreational activity, but turns out to be a sick experience?

All you need to do to get the DVD/CD you want to watch is send a request through a website (which rarely works) and also call up a "so-called" customer care and tell them that you haven't received the movie(s) and again call them to tell that - "Damn you, you've sent me the wrong movies!". After all this, a "senior" person comes on the line and apologizes as if that person's sole responsibility is to apologize (Chief Apology Officer?) only to find that they shamelessly send you a wrong DVD the very next day.

"Systems are down" syndrome! - Thanks to IT; banks, insurance companies and now even movie rental companies have a new reason to quote when things aren't working.

Somehow, Seventymm people who come to deliver DVDs often find their bike tyre punctured because of which they can't deliver a movie

Want to hear what Seventymm customers are saying? Read this, which is their very own forum in which people have "praised" their service to an extent that you won't find a reason not to subscribe to this service (to be read as - fall into this trap).

Sending emails to support@seventymm.com is like shooting arrows in the dark. You just don't know if a human ever read it at the other end. How much ever you scream, shout, cry, there is just no response.

I seriously wonder if it really took $100 million to setup such a horrible company offering such poor quality of service. I also wonder if these investors ever go out to the web and read reviews about the company they are investing in.

After all this and even after reading this, if you think you just can't survive without subscribing to seventymm, then, God save you! R.I.P.

Update:
I couldn't tolerate this any more and tried to find the e-mail addresses of senior execs at Seventymm, but, none of their contact details were disclosed on their website. So, I sent a mail directly to their VC company's execs. Soon after which I got a call from the GM of Seventymm assuring that I will be refunded the money (not sure whether it is only the over-charged portion or the balance of my 6 month rental money which I've paid). The GM did mention a valid point about their company still in the growing stages and that very soon such issues will not happen, which I do understand. The main problem was that they didn't communicate at all. In case of a genuine problem, they should have made it a point to mail me and keep me informed of what is happening. Nevertheless, I hope one fine day I'll be writing a good review about seventymm.

Another update:
I'm getting a refund for the unused 4 months out of the 6 months subscription out of which I've used it for 2 months!

Well I am a member of BIGFlix.com. I have been experiencing good service. They have good titles at their end. Moreover their website is pretty user friendly and gives you a good idea about the content they have at their end across all languages...

Last but not the least they have good subscription plans across...

Check them out...worth a try

Hoping you won't be dissapointed with their service...

Hi!
I had a terrible experience too. Luckily mine was just one month trial subscription. And all I can say is, Seventymm is the worst ever service I have come across. Its not worth even a single Rupee invested.

I was offerred a free one-month promotional subscription of seventymm and I must say , their service was [sarcasm]Amazing[/sarcasm] !!!

There was an illusion of a "rental queue" which was supposed to 'work'. I even got movies I was not even aware of , leave alone listed in my rental queue. I finally gave up on ordering 'movies' and started ordering BBC documentaries instead. The month eventually ended and it took another 3 months to get my subscription refund cheque :-)

Prathibha- Unfortunately I am stuck in a 6 months *contract* (to be read as trap)

Abhinav - I wonder if they have invented a new data structure! It is not a rental 'queue' nor is it a 'stack' nor a 'tree'. They are [sarcasm] Amazing guys [sarcasm]! Pray for me that I get my refund soon!

I took this "1-DVD Unlimited 3 Months Plan" for Rs. 849/- after I got a sales call for this. I was told that I'll be eligible for 1-DVD daily, provided I send an sms between 11:30 pm and early morning 4:40 am.

Now after 55 days since I took this service, I have been delivered only 35 movies till date. Every week, despite of sending sms (5757570) on time, I'm not delivered movies for at least 2 days every week. In between there was 3 days when I didn't got any delivery of movies.

I've been following up with your Customer Care (+011 - 6060 0070), and I'm told every time that there were some technical issues, and this issue will not happen again, but it happens every week.

And after the pathetic service, the Customer Care Executives are more pathetic.
Today (10-Jun-09) I called up the Customer Care Executive and the person spoke very unprofessionally and rudely.
He bluntly said - "we have provided 35 movies till date and it is a very good service we have provided to you and you will not find this kind of excellent service anywhere".
When I said I'm not going to renew this plan if this kind of service continues, he said - "If you are not happy with the service, then we'll our self cancel this plan, once 90 days are over and we will not let you renew any service with us".
I'm just wandering if he is doing any good to your company or harming the company's reputation. Well, with this kind of setup and behavior, I don't think your company is here to provide some good service to people. I think as I have been sms-ing every day, the company is not co-operating and not willing to extend any support to a customer like me.
The Customer Care Executive added - "The company has already spent more than Rs.1000/- in delivering movies to you", which clearly indicated that I should not expect any more good service.

This is very unfortunate, but all these will only force me not to renew the plan. Moreover, I provided 5-6 more references where I'll ensure that they also don't renew any plans with www.seventymm.com

I would request anybody concerned not to take any kind of plans from this company.

Now, can somebody get me the mail ids of somebody senior in this company.

Thanks

Avijit
